Line editing happens after the big-picture things like plot and themes have been finalized. With line edits, the goal isn’t to make sure your book is error-free, but to examine the writing at a sentence and paragraph level. Think tightening the text, clearing up unclear transitions, and improving pacing.
Copyediting focuses on the finer details and makes sure that the writing adheres to the house style guide (typically the Chicago Manual of Style, but with tailored adjustments as per your preferences). Think spelling, grammar, punctuation, consistency, and readability.
• Combo line/copyedit: All edits come with both—yes, both!—copy and line editing. All in all, these two stages ensure your draft is ready for the final stages of proofreading and publishing.
• A style sheet: This lists things like stylistic choices and consistency guidelines, as well as character names, a timeline of events, and major plot points.
• Two weeks of email support after you receive your edits to go over any questions or notes.
“That’s it? Just these two services?” Yep, that’s it. Just combo copy and line editing. This is my bread and butter, so you can be sure that you’re getting stellar services when it comes to fine-tuning your story.

The meticulous level of detail that Sarah adheres to is exceptional and inspiring on all levels, both for our magazine publications but also more broadly as her eye for detail influences much beyond the pages of our Global Tea Hut magazine. There are few…who maintain such a high standard of work consistently each and every time.
